Effective January 1, 2012, there will no longer be weekly pickup of yard waste, sea weeds, leaves, and brush. There will be a spring and fall pickup. Dates to be determined.


Recycling Information

PLASTIC:
ACCEPT
All Plastic Bottles & Containers:
     Soda, Water & Other Drink Bottles
     Food & Household Bottles, Jars and Jugs
     Dairy Containers & Lids
     Produce, Bakery & Deli Containers

DO NOT ACCEPT
     No Plastic Bags, Wrap or Film
     No Motor Oil Bottles
     No Styrofoam

GUIDELINES:
     Empty and rinse all bottles and containers
     Remove and discard all screw caps

PAPER:
ACCEPT
     Newspapers & Inserts
     Cardboard & Paperboard (cereal & cracker boxes)
     Junk Mail & Office Paper
     Milk, Juice & Soup Cartons
     Phonebooks, Books, Magazines & Catalogs

DO NOT ACCEPT
     No Paper Contaminated by Food or Grease
     No Tissue
     No Gift Wrap

GUIDELINES:
     Flatten and cut cardboard to no larger than 2' X 2'

METAL AND GLASS:
ACCEPT
     Aluminum Bottles & Cans
     Steel, Tin & Bi-metal Cans
     Empty Aerosol Cans
     Food & Beverage Glass Bottles and Jars

DO NOT ACCEPT
     No Aluminum Pans or Foil
     No Empty Paint Cans

GUIDELINES:

Curbside Recyling Guide

As of January 1, 2019, all recyclables will be picked up UNBAGGED (loose) in a container of your choice. This is a new requirement of a Shawano County Recycling Ordinance. Garbage will continue to be bagged.

Burn site Information

NEW BURN SITE HOURS AT VILLAGE OF CECIL/TOWN OF WASHINGTON BURN SITE FROM APRIL 1 TO NOVEMBER 1:

1st Saturday of the month 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (manned by Town of
Washington)

2nd Saturday of the month 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (manned by Village of Cecil)

3rd Saturday of the month 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (manned by Town of
Washington)

4th Saturday of the month 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (manned by Village of Cecil)

5th Saturday of the month (if applicable) 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In addition, the Village of Cecil will have the Burn Site open every Wednesday
3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

FROM NOVEMBER 2 TO MARCH 30, THE BURN SITE WILL BE OPEN THE FIRST WEEKEND OF EACH MONTH FROM 12 P.M. TO 4 P.M.

NO ELECTRONICS WILL BE TAKEN AT THE BURN SITE. THIS IS FOR YARD WASTE AND SEA WEED ONLY.
